Are you still using that blue mascara that you picked up freshman year in high school? Are you lining your lips with black eyeliner? With the sweep of a brush and the swipe of powder you can change the look of your skin.  Welcome to the twenty first century!  Take advantage of the many different ways beauty cosmetics can change your life.

There are professionals whose job it is to help you. They are the makeup attendants that are found in every major department store.  They choose an on trend color palate and you get to try it on.  Although the color cosmetics the makeup attendant chose for you may be trendy they may not look good on you.  If you are in doubt about how the makeup looks once it is on your face ask to try something else.  It is her job to help you until you are satisfied.  Choose eye, cheek and lip colors that will give you a timeless look.  That doesn’t mean that you can’t mix in a trendy eye color here or lip color there for a special occasion. The best makeup is what you will actually wear from day to day.

Although hairstyles aren’t technically makeup it will affect your overall look.  My mom always said you can have on a million dollar dress but if your hair looks bad no one will notice it.  Pick a style that you can live with.  If you are a low maintenance girl don’t pick a hairstyle where you have to visit the stylist every week.

Some people say focusing on outer appearance is superficial.  However, those of us who have ever seen a transformation know better. Looking great on the outside makes you feel good on the inside.  When you feel good on the inside that helps to build your confidence.  What is more beautiful than a confident woman? Absolutely nothing.
