An occupational health assessment is a medical procedure given by a physician to see whether or not an individual is capable of having a job or doing work. This procedure also included opinion on whether or not the job is for you, other job opportunities, improvements in workplace, and anything that will ensure safety in the workplace.

Moreover, safety is very significant. Some physicians will go as far as going to the desired workplace and determine if its safe. Many employers give their workers frequent occupational health assessments so that they can make sure their employee’s are healthy and remain that way. Other employers will just be given assessments when needed.

When an employee has been on temporary leave from an illness, an assessment will be given. They are given these to make sure they are ready to return to work and are healthy enough to keep working. Employees who work at jobs that are exposed to risky conditions such as asbestos, will be given occupational health assessments to make sure they are get good Occupational Health Services. Workers who appear to have asthma problems or coughing problems will be given these assessments also.  When giving these assessments, employers are not to discriminate.

These assessments are given to make sure that the workplace and tits recipients are safe. Not to judge a person according to the results of the assessments.  These assessments are to help and give advice to alter conditions according to the results.
